How to find good digital piano headphones?

To choose the right piano headphones, there are several criteria to consider: comfort, sound quality and compatibility with your device. In order for them to accompany you during long sessions at the keyboard, you need to be sure that they are comfortable to wear and that the headphones do not hurt your ears.

In our selection, we offer only the best headphones we have tried, so you won't have any unpleasant surprises.

What kind of headphones do I need to play the piano?

The audio quality of a set of headphones frequently depends on its price range. For a pianist, it's important to have a balanced acoustic between the bass and treble to be able to hear the harmonies when playing. A good pair of headphones will cover all the frequency responses necessary for optimal use of an electronic piano

It's just a matter of what you prefer between closed headphones that have better sound isolation and open headphones that are less quiet but allow you to hear the surrounding noise.

Is it harder to play with headphones than with natural sound?

Not at all. While some professional pianists will always prefer the natural sound of an exceptional grand piano, using headphones will in no way prevent you from playing the piano well and having fun. For some pianists, it is even the opposite. Playing the piano without disturbing your loved ones is sometimes easier and less stressful.

The only drawback is that it cuts you off from your environment, and you may hear other instruments differently when you play the piano for a concert, for example.

Which piano to choose to play with headphones?

To be able to play the piano with headphones on, you will have to select pianos with an electronic system like a hybrid piano, a digital piano or a silent piano. To connect your headphones to these, you just need to plug them in and adjust the volume: nothing could be easier. And contrary to what you might think, these keyboards are suitable for all pianists, not just beginners. Hanlet offers a wide range of instruments, from the lightest to the largest pianos you'll find in concert halls and recording studios.
